About the Project

Type ‘n Jump is a text-based platformer, made during Ludum Dare 41. The theme was "Combine 2 Incompatible Genres", so I the concept of a platform game in which the character was controlled by text commands.

The main challenge of the project was to make the player not get frustrated with our unusual input choice. Thus, to ensure fluid gameplay, we have created many safe areas for the player to test the controls and get used to them.

It got 90th in the Overall category amongst over 2000 entries, with around 163 ratings. The game attracted a nice community during the event, which even made a series of speedrun races of the game.
